Antioxidant BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene, 2,6-Di-tert-butyl-4-methylphenol) is one of the most widely used synthetic antioxidants. It prevents oxidative degradation of fats, oils, and petroleum-based products.\n\nBHT is used in food packaging, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, rubber, plastics, and jet fuels. It is an effective free radical scavenger with excellent thermal stability.
